MagicEightBall Game Forcasts

line -10   Denver

I was the number one skeptic when Peyton manning did not trade the pads for a matching tie and kerchief to sit with the Sunday Talking Heads of Sports.  I never thought PM would come back from injury to play at an acceptable level to himself,  if not to the players/coaches/fans  expectations.  But I was dead wrong.  Manning could possibly cement his legacy (Aaron Rogers may not) at the top of the greatest with a SuperBowl victory this year.  That said, THE greatest active defensive player is perhaps wrapping it up with this game.  Ray Lewis will lead his Ravens against a familiar adversary in Manning.

Move after countermove, Lewis and Manning will go head-to-head for the entire game. This is the way it's been whenever these two NFL greats face each other. And, for one last meeting, Lewis and Manning are looking to outwit and outlast the other.  Certainly emotions will be running high for the Ravens.   If Lewis can contain Manning’s Bronco offense, the Ravens have a shot.  Joe Flacco has the even head and consistency to score just enough to stay in it until the end.

But in the end, MagicEightBall predicts the Broncos over the Ravens, 31-24.

There are a couple of pretty safe bets this weekend in the NFL Divisional Playoffs, and yet another pair of contests that should prove challenging.

MLB PREDICTIONS – CHAMPIONS and AWARD WINNERS

During the first week of the season, MLB Fans At Bat Panelists (of which I am one) were asked to predict who would qualify for the 2013 Postseason and ultimately celebrate a World Series title in October.

In addition, we were asked to name who we expected to be the top contenders for the league MVP and Cy Young Awards. Nearly 7,000 panelists participated in this survey, and below are some of the results:

Run For The Roses

Goldencents (currently 7-1)– Santa Anita Derby winner, will be only the second African American Jockey (Kevin Krigger) in the field since 1921, and a win would be first by a black jockey in 110 years.  The horse is capable, the mount is good, but the sum of the two is greater yet.  And did we mention one of the owners is Rick Pitino, coach of the Louisville Cardinals B’Ball Team?   Hmmmmmm-yeah.  We predict winners circle, and another tattoo.

Oxbow (currently 20-1) – Strong horse, trainer D.Wayne Lukas.  Ridden by 3-time Derby winner Gary Stevens.  PLACE

Normandy Invasion (currently 8-1) – Experienced Javier Castellano has the mount, horse was runner up at the Wood Memorial.  SHOW

Kentucky Derby UPDATE

by Douglas Black, ENERSPEC, may 2, 2013

With weather likely to be a major factor, my MagicEightBall has taken another look at the field.

A couple of horses now stand out as strong contenders should it be a sloppy affair.

Mylute has proven fast on mud.  The Tom Amoss trained horse will be piloted by Rosie Naprovnik, the veteran who last year earned more than $12 million in purses.

While Orb also is thought by many to be the favorite, but MagicEightBall has some doubt.  Revolutionary does well in sloppy conditions and we still like Normandy Invasion.

So the new predictions from MagicEightBall 4-Cast go like this;

Revolutionary (currently 10-1 odds) to WIN.

Mylute (currently 15-1 odds) to Place.

Normandy Invasion (currently 12-1 odds) to Show.

followed by Oxbow (30-1),  Verrazano (4-1) , and Goldencents (5-1)

IS IT TOO SOON?

The springtime oddsmakers are naming the Crimson Tide of Alabama as 3-1 favorites to win the next BCS..

The Ohio State Buckeyes are next according to Bovada.lv, at 13-2, edging out Oregon who is given 7-1 odds at taking the NCAA Football crown.

Can Orb Continue on Quest for Triple Crown?

Magic Eight Ball 4-Cast says close, but not quite.

by Douglas Black,  May 18, 2013

While the Magic Eight Ball 4-Cast picked the correct order of finish for Revolutionary, Goldencents and Mylute in the Derby, Orb and Golden Soul edged out our picks for 1-2 finishes.

Today we like Mylute, ridden by a very good female jockey named Napravnik again to Show.
And Magic Eight Ball 4-Cast picks Kevin Krigger to pilot his mount Goldencents ahead of Orb for Win-Place.
